CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The following care instructions are only recommendations.
WOOD
CURIONI seals its wood surfaces with a high-quality finish. For this reason, we recommend cleaning solid wood and veneered surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth, using a mild detergent for stubborn dirt. We recommend always using eco-friendly cleaning products and regularly maintaining your furniture. Before using any cleaning product, test it in an inconspicuous area. Follow the cleaning product manufacturer's instructions and contact a professional cleaning service in case of persistent dirt or stains. To prevent stains and other damage, liquids should be wiped off immediately. Wet surfaces should be dried immediately with a cloth.
To extend the lifespan of our products, we apply a natural varnish to enhance and protect the natural properties of the wood. However, wooden furniture reacts to its environment. Exposure to light may alter its color, and it will also adjust its moisture levels to match the surrounding environment. Excessive fluctuations in temperature and humidity may cause cracks and warping.
LEATHER
CURIONI leather elements are smooth and high-quality and should not be exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources. We recommend applying a mild leather conditioner once a year to maintain the natural protective water layer and softness of the leather.
For cleaning, use an appropriate leather cleaner in foam or liquid form, avoiding excessive rubbing or pressure, and clean the entire surface rather than focusing only on stains. Superficial dirt should be removed with a soft, damp cloth. For stains and soiled areas, apply a non-abrasive soap solution with a clean, damp sponge. Wipe thoroughly and allow to air dry. Do not apply water directly or wash grease stains. Do not use saddle soap, abrasive cleaning solvents, oils, furniture or shoe polish, varnishes, detergents, or other harsh substances. If stains persist or dirty areas remain, contact a professional cleaning service. Keep in mind that leather ages over time and will develop a unique and beautiful patina.
FABRICS
Basic cleaning and care guidelines:
-
Do not wash.
-
Do not bleach.
-
Do not tumble dry.
-
Iron at medium temperature (max. 150°C).
-
For daily cleaning, use a clean, dry cloth only.
-
Do not use solvents or non-fabric-specific products, as they may cause stains.
-
Professional dry cleaning with tetrachloroethylene and a normal process is recommended.
METALS
Metals should not be cleaned with abrasive materials, as they may remove the paint or protective varnish, particularly in the case of brass. Brass is a material prone to oxidation, so our pieces are polished and varnished, but over time, oxidation spots may appear. This is a natural characteristic of the material—each patina is unique and special, so embrace the beauty of time's effect on it.
WARNING
Do not use pure, harsh, strong, or abrasive cleaning fluids, or furniture polish containing silicone or abrasives. These often contain solvents and/or color additives that leave a difficult-to-remove coating, potentially affecting the color and finish of the veneer surface. If possible, avoid rubbing the surface during cleaning, as this can make matte finishes shiny and cause the varnish to become electrostatically charged, attracting more dust.
